While Hinako is dragged from place to place by others, Asahi spends most of her time by herself, bringing lunch from home and taking walks after work while munching on a doughnut at the end of a tough day. But Asahi is far less concerned with other people’s expectations of her than Hinako, who wonders if Asahi is as afraid of being alone as she is. In complete contrast to her is Asahi Satou, an employee of the same company who is known for her strong work ethic and level head. But no matter how good the man seems, no matter how hard Hinako tries to make herself like them, she feels gross just being touched by them. Her coworkers do everything in their power to set Hinako up with the right man, from getting her into dating mixers to matching her with single men they know. Advertised by publisher Seven Seas as, “a yuri romance for the modern career woman,” the series follows Hinako Uno, a young office worker who dedicates herself to makeup and fashion while desperately trying to fall in love. Doughnuts Under a Crescent Moon is the most recent manga series by Shio Usui, a creator who has a history with publishing yuri and shoujo-ai series, and the first of their works to be published in English.
